Carpenter (04 Positions)

The International University of East Africa (IUEA) invites applications from qualified and skilled individuals for the position of Carpenter within the Estates and Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures and fittings across the university (furniture, doors, windows, cabinets, and fixtures)
2. Carry out routine maintenance and refurbishment of classrooms, offices, and student facilities
3. Interpret drawings and measurements to ensure accuracy in work execution
4. Conduct inspections and identify areas requiring repair or replacement
5. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
6. Ensure proper use and maintenance of carpentry tools and equipment
7. Comply with health and safety standards at all times

Minimum Requirements:

1. Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery or a related field
2. At least 2 years’ relevant experience, preferably in a large institution or facility
3. Practical knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and techniques
4. Ability to read basic technical drawings
5. High level of integrity and reliability
